　　现代人真正需要怎样的生活?更丰富更奢华的物质享受?还是更加简单舒适的精神享受?在快节奏的社会中，我们常常忽略了精神的需求，在这个不可抗拒的物质大潮里，我们更需要逆流而上的精神艺术，融合美和生活的当代艺术，重塑现代人的精神生活，这正是喜玛拉雅美术馆建立的初衷。

　　-What do people really need in the modern world?Do they want riches and luxury goods or do they want to revert back to a simpler way of life?In the high-pressured, fast-pacedmodern life we often overlook the ethereal spirit, beauty and integrity of fine art, and that was precisely why the Himalayas Museum of Contemporary Art was built.

　　喜玛拉雅中心三成是技术与建筑，七成是人文。位于喜玛拉雅中心三楼的美术馆，便是70%人文艺术的代表，其前身为创建于2005年的上海证大现代艺术馆，是一个从事艺术展览、教育、收藏、研究、学术交流的公益艺术机构。自成立以来，始终以开放的姿态和前瞻性的视野，积极介入社会文化的建设，在当代的社会语境下探索美术馆的新模式，发掘新兴的艺术力量，不断与国际文化交流碰撞，连接传统与当代，尝试跨领域合作，打造具有中国文化精神的当代艺术。

　　个人意志与大时代交织而成的当代艺术风格，特立独行，极致张扬，同时刺激了下一代的艺术爱好者。喜玛拉雅积极支持传统与当代中国艺术文化的融合，为现代美术馆模式探索写下新的一章。

　　An inviting approach and future forward vision create a new model for modern museums while stimulating the next generation of art enthusiasts. Himalayas became actively involved in the expression and exploration of bridging traditional and contemporary Chinese art and cultures. A new chapter was written.

　　今天，美术馆想要捕捉到瞬息万变的中国当代艺术，需要背后强大的学术支持。美术馆除了积极支持艺术家及其地方文化的构建，同时也持续关注国际艺术界与国外艺术家，策展人和机构的合作交流。

　　Integrating personal choice,innovation and art style, the museum captures the rapidly changing Chinese art scene, which is in need of strong academic support. Today the museum actively supports its local cultural network of artists while concurrently reaching out to the international art community by cooperating with foreign artists，curators and institutions.

　　光在美术馆

　　设计师鉴于美术馆的这些需求，在照明设计上，通过比较自然光与人工照明各自的优势和弱势，采取了二者相结合的照明方法，以此来取长补短。在美术馆正中央的公共空间展览大厅，设计了大面积的玻璃天花，益于采光的同时也为美术馆建筑的整体造型增添了艺术的语汇表现。同时，在美术作品的展示中还配合了人工光源投射, 以衬托作品的完美展示;在两端的主要展廊则采用人工光源照明方法,很大程度上克服自然光的不足, 同时其本身还不受时空、季节、气候、位置等客观因素的限制， 光位灵活、自由、易于调整, 从而有利于创造各种照明效果。

　　The lighting designer appreciated the different redeeming qualities of both natural and artificial light throughout the museum space. In the center of the museum, wide beams of natural light pass through glass ceilings,complementing the indoor artificial light emanating from the fixtures. In unison, both sources of illumination enhance the others’weaknesses with their strengths. Natural light is limited to space, season, weather, location and other factors while artificial light can solve all of these challenges.

　　众所周知，LED照明产品能够提供高效率的照明，而不产生热量，并可以保持绘画、雕塑和其他艺术品的品质在美术馆展陈的过程中不受损害。艺术作品的安全性是任何艺术照明产品的基本前提。为此，设计者所选择的LED产品，需要完全避免红外线(IR)和紫外线(UV)辐射，在照亮艺术品时，不会使其颜色及纹理失真。

　　All LED luminaires deliver efficient illumination without any projected heat to preserve the quality and character of the paintings, sculptures and other objets d’art in the museum. The safety and preservation of art works are the basic premises of any art lighting functionality. To this end, the designer chose LED products, which are free of infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) radiation and illuminate the art without degrading the color or texture.

　　在美术馆里，艺术作品需要优质的照明给予最准确的色彩渲染，并通过良好的控制系统精确的管理光线的亮度和色彩对比度。如今，喜玛拉雅美术馆照明已经成为了一种低调的公共建筑照明典范，在它的空间里拥有恰当的视觉效果和艺术效果。

　　In the museum context, high-quality precision lighting is required torender the most accurate color rendering of artwork, effectively dim beautifully, and operate withcontrol systems that manage superb brightness and color contrast.The center has become a convergence of understated lighting expression. It offers aptly high-performance visual effects and art effects.
