该终端采用主流的物联网通信协议MQTT（消息队列遥测传输）与服务平台，满足实时性要求高的应用场合。MQTT消息内容采用protobuf（谷歌内部的混合语言数据标准）或者JSON协议编码，性能好、效率高、兼容性好。基于该终端应用于照明行业，对于安全性要求比较高，安全加密方式采用SSL （安全传输层协议）方式。
